Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or higher combined with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the technologies of electrical systems in combined cycle power plant applications
Required Experience and Abilities:
• Experience in the commissioning and/or operation/maintenance of mentioned components preferred.
• Proficient in the interpretation and application of relevant international and local standards governing the design and installation of electrical components in the North America and Latin America Region (incl. IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, OSHA)
• Ability to focus on detailed work including performing design calculations for electrical systems and able to handle multiple tasks in parallel while meeting high quality standards and project timelines
• Excellent team player and communicator; fluent in English (written and verbal) with the ability to travel internationally for short durations if required (up to approximately 10%)
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
Preferred Experience and Abilities:
• Experience and expertise in the design and specification of static excitation systems, startup frequency converters and generator protection systems preferred
• Experience in the design and specification of low voltage switchgear systems, power transformers, batteries, battery chargers, cable and cable raceway system preferred
• Spanish and/or German as a 2nd language is a plus
The Project Manager- Electrical will work in an international and inter-disciplinary team setting and will be required to design, cost and negotiate electrical equipment in a self-reliant work manner for bid preparation. Tasks include the collaboration with customers, vendors, various engineering disciplines, bid management and sales and supply chain management to develop and sell technical solutions ensuring highest customer satisfaction and successful project implementation.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of electrical concepts and system designs for reference power plants and their project specific adaptation serving proposal activities and new unit project implementations
• Design and specification of electrical components such as static excitation systems, generator protection systems and plant internal power distribution equipment
• Creation and release of technical system requirements as well as procurement specification for electrical components in scope of team
• Creation and release of technical design and interface documentation for equipment in scope of team
• Coordination of component interfaces with internal and external partners including the support of installation and commission teams
• Creation, review and approval of engineering documentation
• Review and approval of vendor quotations to ensure compliance with technical specifications
• Review, comment and approve engineering vendor documentation
