DescriptionMabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®), an award-winning and industry leading environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Compliance. Mabbett provides consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including those in the healthcare, biotechnology, research and development industries, as well as federal agencies and academia. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day execution of environmental compliance and related projects, including large-scale federal and private sector initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise with entrepreneurial vision. The role includes significant opportunities for professional development and career growth.ResponsibilitiesManage and execute high-value environmental compliance projects.Act as a senior project manager and technical consultant, providing strategic guidance and oversight.Support the development and implementation of business development strategies to expand the environmental compliance practice.Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates, and proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and regulatory standards.Oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes for deliverables, maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.Supervise, mentor, and train staff to foster professional growth and build a high-performing team.Assist in the daily operations of the environmental compliance practice area, ensuring efficient project execution.RequirementsBachelor's degree in environmental sciences, public health, environmental engineering, environmental law, or a related field; master's degree preferred.7+ years of progressive experience in environmental compliance consulting, including hazardous waste management, permitting, compliance audits, regulatory reporting (e.g., SARA, TURA, air emissions), and management systems.A professional certification such as CHMM, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, QEP, PE, or CPEA is required.Certification as a Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Planner (TURP) is required within nine months of hire.Proven ability to manage and mentor teams within a consulting and engineering environment.U.S. Citizenship required; active federal security clearance preferred or ability to obtain a federal security clearance.Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, federal agencies and/or academia is a plus.Experience with federal environmental compliance proposals is a plus.Must possess strong technical writing and communication skills; must be proficient in MS Excel® (able to create, use and manipulate spreadsheets).Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, as well as a pre-employment physical and drug screen, to include cannabis.LocationThis is a hybrid position based out of the firm's Corporate Headquarters located in Stoneham, MA office or out of our Alexandria, VA office.
