Job Overview
As our company continues to grow, we are adding this new position to provide oversight and management of our government programs. This position will be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders and partnering with government agencies to manage program timelines and resources. This position will coordinate regularly across all departments at Melinta to ensure alignment on key initiatives for our government programs and maintain contract compliance. Competitive candidates will have, among other things, experience managing the full lifecycle of government contracts, a customer-focused mentality, excellent communication skills, and strong business acumen.
Duties and responsibilities
* Support strategic relationships with key U.S. and international partners, primarily US Department of Human Health and Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA)
* Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to manage scope, timelines, and budget
* Coordinate cross-functional activities to maintain compliance with government rules and regulations
* Ensure compliant execution of contract deliverables, including technical reporting
* Develop and manage project plans and risk/issue logs
* Effectively manage team meetings to keep team updated and on track
* Maintain program files, including deliverables and procurement files
* Manage proposal efforts for new government funding opportunities including managing timelines and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders
* Maintain management reports and dashboards
Qualifications
* Strong project management skills to support coordination across large, cross-functional teams; Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), or equivalent a plus
* Prior experience managing the lifecycle of government funding (e.g. proposal development, negotiation, execution, change management, closeout) preferred; experience working with HHS/APSR/BARDA a plus
* Knowledge of drug development processes and application of project management tools
* Ability to multitask among multiple projects and teams and work independently in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment
* Ability to prioritize effectively to deliver activities in alignment with all revenue, cost, time and quality requirements
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Education
Bachelor's degree with 10 + years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant project management and government contracting experience.

Preference for position to be located in Washington DC or at company headquarters in Parsippany, NJ or Lake Forrest, IL office locations. Will consider remote work options.
Business travel as required, approximately 10%.
