Salary: See Position Description Location : Berkeley Mo. 63134, MO Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2023-00463 Department: Public Health Opening Date: 09/03/2024 Closing Date: 9/30/2024 11:59 PM Central Description This position reviews public food service and public water recreation facility change of ownership, remodel and new construction plans for compliance with the Saint Louis County Food Service Establishment and Public Water Recreation Facility codes. In addition, the position provides technical expertise to contractors and operators and advises them on current county laws affecting building and remodeling of food and water recreation facilities. The position works in collaboration with local and county building departments, oversees facility file management, approves pre-construction plans and tracks the design and construction of facilities prior to approving the facility to open to the public. For more information regarding this program, please visit Examples of DutiesEssential Function Examples Design engineering or architectural plans to include the creative aspect of the object being built as well as the plans, schedules, budget and regulatory compliance. Review quantities, estimates, calculations and specifications for accuracy and compliance with regulations. Identify discrepancies and provide technical assistance to arrive at acceptable design solutions. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with design plans, standards, regulations, ordinances and established timelines. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Architecture. Prefer related experience, knowledge of construction codes and a professional license or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional InformationSELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County. For moderately or severely immunocompromised individuals, a primary series consists of a 3-dose series of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or a single dose of Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. At this time, full vaccination does not require a booster shot. The meaning of fully vaccinated is subject to change in accordance with the most recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
