Job Description:

Conductix-Wampfler a leading global provider of energy and data transmission solutions is seeking a high energy, self-directed, quality and customer-focused Project Manager I to coordinate and manage all activities related to the successful execution of small and medium sized projects within the scope of the local PMO.

The Project Manager I will work closely with the external customers contacts/technical staff and our local and global PMO, as well as sales, engineering, quality and manufacturing teams to monitor orders and monitor service after the sale. This role will be responsible for tracking and monitoring the internal engineering design, procurement, production planning, quality requirements and test specifications of every assigned project. A successful candidate must be able to work comfortably with all levels of an organization, gain an understanding of all technical aspects of the product and work with the complexity of the internal processes needed to ensure we meet all contractual requirements. She/he must be able to handle multiple tasks and complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes. Qualified candidates will possess the following base competencies:

+ Entry Level Project Scheduling

+ MS Project or Primavera

+ Entry Level Project Management

+ Degree or Experience

+ External-facing communication and management (customer service is okay; 6 months or an internship)

+ Cross-functional experience (at least 6 months or an internship)

+ Entry Level Technical Writing Skills

+ Ability to outline work instructions

+ Moderate Technical Ability

+ Able to read and comprehend basic design / manufacturing drawings

+ Moderate Financial / Business Acumen

SUMMARY

The objective of the Project Manager I is to manage the organization of key client projects delivering every project on time within budget and scope. The Project Manager I will display key relationship management skills and a strong technical background to understand the complexities of a technical business environment. The Project Manager I is the first step in the Conductix Wampfler PMO Project Management organization.

This position reports to the PMO Manager, US.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Supports all corporate objectives and policies

+ Accountable for the coordination and completion of all assigned projects on time and within profitability expectations

+ Oversee all aspects of assigned projects developing a detailed project plan setting deadlines, monitoring and summarizing progress of all projects; within the Project Management Office framework

+ Initiate, execute, and closeout projects according to established processes.

+ Coordinate internally with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are achieved

+ Maintain comprehensive project documentation, in accordance with PMO and GPMO standards

+ Responsible for reporting on project status to local and global management.

+ Work directly with customers to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

+ Clear, direct communication with customer managing expectations.

+ Communicate customer concerns / issues internally and execute recovery or response.

+ Strong ability to multi-task and manage various projects in different markets.

+ Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

+ On site project meetings when necessary.

+ Enter orders for assigned projects.

+ Uphold the Core Values

+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements of this position include:

+ Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Sharepoint)

+ Proven communication skills to interact with team members

+ Proven critical thinking skills to resolve questions and problems related to orders.

+ Strong organizational skills a must.

+ Knowledge of SAP a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Experience or education that evidences the ability to perform job functions. For example, a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The job requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer purchase order documents, technical order specifications. It also requires the ability to write short memos and reports in Microsoft Word and E-Mail. Also requires sufficient verbal skills to gather and interpret information required to accurately complete order entry. The ability to conduct business in a second language (Spanish, French, German, or Mandarin) is not a requirement but would set a candidate apart from others with equal experience.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (ringing telephones, pages, several people conversing at once, etc.)

TRAVEL

Will be up 15%, could include international travel and/or weekends as projects demand
