The Strategic Initiatives group is staffing up a team that will focus on driving and managing key projects and initiatives that align with the organization's long-term strategic goals. The Project Manager in the Strategic Initiatives group is responsible for developing and managing the project plan, coordinating project activities, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the project deliverables meet standards. In some larger or more complex initiatives, the project manager will work under the direction of a program manager.
Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
Stakeholder Management: Communication with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations. Manage relationships to ensure alignment and support for the project.
Resource Management: Allocate resources including budget, personnel, and materials to ensure that project goals are met. Manage and optimize resource use.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor and address risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against goals and milestones. Use performance metrics to evaluate success and make adjustments as needed.
Strategic Alignment: Ensure that the project supports the broader strategic objectives of the organization. Align project outcomes with business goals and strategies.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders and senior management on project status, performance, and issues.
Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources effectively, ensuring minimal impact on project objectives.
Skills: - Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Jira)
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
- Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate teams
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, convey technical information to non-technical audiences, and manage expectations
- Ability to analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and make data-driven decisions
- Awareness of industry standards and best practices related to technology project management
Experience: - Several years of experience in project management, specifically in business operations and technology projects
- Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience
- Project Management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Master Project Manager (MPM), etc. desired
