Overview Join the HJF Team! HJF is seeking a Project Manager III to drive successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for a single project or multiple non-integrated projects by coordinating and monitoring the status of work performed by technical staff. Typically works on moderate to high complexity projects and reports to a Program Manager. The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) is seeking a mid-level project manager to lead the development, management, and maintenance of a project management system to organize and track work products developed by the Office of External Affairs. A primary focus of this role will be providing dedicated project management support to the International Programs Office, ensuring alignment with the University's broader objectives. This position plays a critical part in facilitating efficient project execution and delivering high-quality work products in support of the University's mission. This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, President Office of External Affairs. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Responsibilities System Development - Lead the design and development of a comprehensive project management system to facilitate project planning, tracking, and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather system requirements, ensuring alignment with the needs of the Office of External Affairs. System Implementation - Oversee the roll out and implementation of the project management system, providing training and support to end-users. Ensure the system is user-friendly, adaptable, and aligns with DOD regulations, standards and best practices. Project Planning and Execution - Determines appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables. Assists in determining appropriate assignments, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and reporting on progress in meeting established milestones and deadlines. Develops and maintains project plans and timelines for projects within the Office of External Affairs, including International Programs. Monitors project progress, identifies and mitigates risks, and ensures projects are delivered on time and within scope. Participates in phase, milestone, and final project reviews. Acts as a primary point of contact between the Office of External Affairs and other University departments to communicates project status, updates, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment. Manages the feedback loop to drive for final approval of deliverables. Documentation, Reporting and Assessment - Maintains accurate project documentation and progress reports.Generates regular reports and metrics to track project performance and make data-driven decisions. Implements quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality work products. Continuously assesses and improves the project management system for effectiveness and efficiency. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred Minimum of 6-8 years experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools of quality assurance, quality control, and reliability used to ensure that a project fulfills requirements and standards. Knowledge of the strategies, techniques, and processes used to plan, develop, and control project schedule and track project milestones, activities, and deliverables, including timeframes and assigned resources. Knowledge of the strategies, techniques, and processes used to plan, monitor, and control project scope; includes collecting requirements, defining scope, creating a work breakdown structure, validating scope, and controlling scope to ensure project deliverables meet requirements (i.e., features, functions). Understands the creative process and what graphic designers, videographers and/or photographers need to be successful (logistically and creatively). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in project management. Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft. Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check. Physical Capabilities Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs. Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $73,800-105,000.00.
