WithersRavenel is recruiting a Project Manager to join our expanding and innovative Site Civil Practice Area! Do you get excited about public engagement and working closely with a variety of stakeholders? If so, this role is for you! This opportunity is unique in the sense that you would work on 100% local government projects throughout NC that could include: Courthouses, Libraries, Civic Centers, Law Enforcement Centers and more. Additionally, the role is designed to have the ability to mentor and help grow the team which adds a valuable leadership component. In it's entirety, this position is great for someone who is technically skilled on public sector projects and interested in team development. This is a hybrid role is based out of our Cary, NC office but could work out of any of North Carolina offices. We define a hybrid work arrangement as one where employees and supervisors collaborate to establish an in- and out-of-office schedule that works for all involved. Responsibilities

  • Direct projects by managing and delegating tasks, forecasting and proactively addressing workload, financial performance, resource and staffing needs while collaborating with clients and teammates throughout the organization.
  • Oversee and participate in the cultivation of existing client relationships including periodic client meetings, proposal and budget development, and obtaining feedback in conjunction with Marketing and Practice Area teammates.
  • Prepare agreements and oversee the creation and approval of construction plans, bid documents, technical specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Analyze complex technical opportunities and devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Team Members to achieve the goals and strategies for the Practice Area. Actively encourage career development, training and career path planning for all of your direct teammates.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 7+ years of engineering/industry experience with demonstrated team management experience
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and project management skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of contracts, accounting principles, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of fostering existing client relationships

  • Project Manager training and/or certifications
