Job Description WIN Waste Innovations is a waste management company committed to delivering essential waste management solutions to customers and communities supported by our team of 2,100 employees. WIN Waste Innovations is a vertically integrated business with a platform of 50 strategically located collection, transfer, and disposal assets. These include waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles. We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) team out of our corporate office in Portsmouth, NH. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of strategic projects across the company. This role will also support activities that align with established organizational objectives. Essential Functions:
  • Support the initiation, execution, and delivery of strategic PMO projects across the company through advising the assigned project managers and their teams
  • Responsible for continuously improving and managing the governance process for all strategic projects across the portfolio to drive and deliver the business strategy
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to understand business drivers, vet out project requirements, shape the project request and support formulation of cost-benefit analysis and implementation plans for the portfolio of strategic projects
  • Responsible for tracking the portfolio health and budget across all projects, status reporting and investment go or no recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and Commitments Committee
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional project teams to clearly establish project scope, define roles and responsibilities for all teams, clearly understand the resources availabilities and backfill plan if required. Recommend and take action to direct the analyses and solutions of problems
  • Support business project managers in the field and at our corporate headquarters in developing and executing project management plans, influence quality and manage stakeholder expectations to ensure prudent use of resources toward project benefits realization
  • Collaborate on monthly Steering and Governance Committee reports, featured presentations, and support for delivery of the quarterly Board of Directors PMO report.
  • Conduct effective project steering and governance committee meetings with clear agenda and documenting and tracking of action items
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables on a regular basis
  • Ensure that process and tools deployed are continually improving the Project Management methodology allowing project managers to be successful in their respective roles in addition to managing project deliverables
  • Work with the PMO team to improve existing tools with a focus on automation, delivery, and user experience
  • Mentor and coach business project managers on the project management process and governance requirements
Qualifications and Education
  • Bachelor's degree required in related field
  • 1 to 5 years of project management or other relevant experience. An MBA can substitute for relevant experience
  • Waste Industry experience preferred
  • Proven organizational skills to multi-task and manage projects involving cross-functional teams at varying levels of complexity and completion while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycles in complex operational and business environments
Skills and Certifications
  • Microsoft Office Suite required -- Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Agile, Spiral, PMP, Lean Six Sigma or other related certifications preferred
  • M A program management experience preferred
  • MS Project, SharePoint, or other project management tool suite preferred
