Job Title: Project Manager - Key Accounts

Location: Roanoke, VA

Position Summary:

Virginia Transformer Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager - Key Accounts to join our team. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing high-priority projects with key clients, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to completion. This role involves coordinating resources, managing timelines, and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts to achieve customer satisfaction and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead the full lifecycle of transformer projects for key accounts, from project kick-off to final delivery. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships to understand their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, production, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure minimal impact on timelines and deliverables.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently, providing regular updates to senior leadership and clients.
  • Contract and Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to contract specifications, industry standards, and company policies throughout project execution.
  • Status Reporting: Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, providing updates on project milestones, deliverables, and any issues that may arise.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement in project execution and contribute to the development of best practices for key account management.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in the power transformer or electrical equipment industry, with a focus on key accounts.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion, with a focus on high-value clients.
  • Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing processes and power distribution systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with a track record of successfully managing client relationships.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • PMP certification or similar project management certification preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and managing project budgets.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
