Job Description:
Job Overview: Our client, a single-source provider of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and service solutions, is seeking a Project Manager for their Greensboro, NC location. This role is vital for managing all aspects of mechanical equipment projects from initial phases through installation, start-up, and final completion. The Project Manager will provide expert guidance, manage interdisciplinary teams, and serve as the single point of contact for clients, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate project kick-off meetings.
  • Coordinate shop drawings and transition projects from estimating to project management through to fabrication and installation.
  • Utilize value engineering to make all projects cost-effective.
  • Monitor project costs continuously.
  • Purchase equipment and materials, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Ensure warranty compliance with vendors.
  • Establish good working relationships with Superintendents.
  • Manage all submittals and attend job-related meetings.
  • Oversee the development of Operating & Maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with contract and project specifications for the company and subcontractors.
  • Approve invoices for payment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of as-builts.
  • Schedule fabrication shipments and direct subcontractor work.
  • Generate status reports and accurately price change orders.
  • Ensure all work complies with the company's safety program.
  • Deliver projects within predetermined budget, time, and quality parameters.
  • Schedule workforce needs with Superintendents, Operations Manager, and Human Resources.
  • Maintain equipment lists and an accurate estimate sheet.
  • Develop and manage project schedules.
  • Coordinate engineering and drafting.
  • Submit accurate and timely Requests for Payment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements include: Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (or 10+ years of related experience).
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in Industrial HVAC, energy service contracting (ESCO), central refrigeration plant, design-build contracting, or energy efficiency field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of project management experience.
Skills:
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in WordPerfect, Excel, Scheduling & Project Management software (Auto-CAD a plus).
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other construction-related rules and regulations.
Certifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
