Summary
The Project Manager oversees the strategic and operational aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring they align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role involves managing the overarching program lifecycle from inception to completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of all projects within the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage the entire project lifecycle for substation and transmission line civil construction scopes, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
* Oversee the coordination of multiple projects to ensure overall program coherence and alignment with business objectives.
* Demonstrate strong project controls skills by adeptly managing schedules and overseeing project budgets, including monitoring and controlling costs across multiple projects
* Participate in project pursuit and bidding activities, launching projects efficiently and effectively for execution.
* Maintain and develop relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability of resources and adherence to project timeliness.
* Mentor and develop project engineers, enhancing their effectiveness and promoting career growth.
* Evaluate project performance against expectations and make adjustments as needed.
* Report regularly to management on project status, risks, and changes.
* Provide leadership in stakeholder meetings, effectively communicating project strategies, negotiations, and conflict resolutions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Responsible for the direct supervision of multiple project teams and coordination with Project Superintendents as their operations leadership counterpart.
* Provide oversight and direction to staff in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction Project Management, with a comprehensive understanding of the technical and regulatory aspects.
* Preferred experience within the power construction industry (substation and transmission), encompassing grading, clearing, civil site development, and foundations.
* Proven capability in managing large-scale projects, with a track record of successful project delivery.
* Strong organizational skills, with a keen aptitude for project controls, scheduling, and budgeting.
* Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, capable of making complex decisions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or a related field.
