Job description
Xtel Communications seeks a skilled Project Manager to oversee telecommunications projects from initiation to completion. This role is integral in ensuring the timely delivery of services, maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders, and managing resources effectively. The Project Manager will coordinate with technical teams, provide regular project updates, and align project outcomes with business goals. We are looking for a dynamic Project Manager with a strong telecommunications background to join our team and lead projects that make a real impact. This is Hybrid role reporting to the Manager of Service Delivery.
Responsibilities
- Set project timelines and monitor project deliverables.
- Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
- Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them.
- Determine and gain approval for milestones, dependencies ownership and timeline for Network Optimization site reduction/closure projects.
- Facilitate weekly/daily progress meetings. Ensure appropriate team members are present and accountable.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates and status.
- Prepare weekly status report for the project team, program management, and executive management.
- Oversee project budgets and associated variances.
- Track project dependencies, identify and mitigate risks and issues.
- Manage relationships with internal and external organizations to keep projects on track and within budget. Initiate escalations appropriately.

Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong business acumen in project planning and management
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Salesforce/Inspire Planner or other Project planning or CRM tools.
- Technical Management, Technical Understanding, Analyzing Information, Informing Others, Staffing, Problem Solving, Coordination, Strategic Planning, Quality Management
- Experience in MSP or MSSP environment is highly preferred.
- Experience managing Hosted UC and Ethernet Services is desirable.
- PMP Certification is not required but desirable.
- Understanding of Telecommunications Project Lifecycle is desirable.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role would be desired.
Education or Equivalent Experience
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications, MSP, MSSP
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications Project Management.
Or
- A bachelors degree or have equivalent work experience.
