The Project Manager (PM) will be a dynamic and experienced person that leads innovation and partnerships within our region that support innovation in textiles, apprenticeships and simulated and virtual education options. The responsibilities span multiple continuing education and curriculum programs for developing new or innovative programs. The PM will be a direct report to both the president of WPCC and the CEO of the NSF Engine and will need to work cooperatively with multiple divisions and departments to accomplish a variety of tasks. Adherence to sound Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) practices and NC Community College System (NCCCS) rules and regulations will be necessary. This is a grant funded position.
Provide leadership for WPCC projects related to the NSF Innovation Engine.
* Manage end to end project lifecycles for initiatives related to textiles, including related apprenticeship and internship programs.
* In collaboration with the Academic Affairs & Workforce Development division, develop and implement relevant educational technologies, including simulation, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
* Develop plans, timelines and milestones to ensure successful execution and delivery of objectives
* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align project goals with strategic priorities
* Serve as the liaison between WPCC, The Industrial Commons and other regional partners
Innovation and Program Development
* Responsible for outreach and program development supporting the Engine
* Identify opportunities for innovation in curriculum development, instructional methods and educational technologies within textiles, apprenticeship and related sectors.
* Spearhead the creation of new simulated/virtual programs and/or digital learning tools that enhance student engagement and accessibility and support advances made by partners in the Engine.
Partnership Development
* Build and lead WPCC's Apprenticeship programs through partnerships with local industries.
* Coordinate with WPCC's Small Business Center and Customized Training programs to deliver related training.
Budget and Resource Management
* Develop and monitor project budgets and resource allocation to ensure efficient use of college resources.
* Support funding proposals and grant applications to secure additional financial support for the college
Evaluation and Reporting
* Support metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of Engine activities.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for college, engine leadership and stakeholders on project outcomes, achievements, and future plans.
Perform other duties as assigned
Hiring Range - ($5,354 - 5,800/monthly) Grant Funded
Minimum Qualifications
* Education, background, and/or training equivalent to a bachelor's degree required.
* Five (5) years of direct work experience in a related technical field required.
* Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and in a variety of work environments.
* Excellent verbal and communication skills.
* Ability to make decisions.
* Organize multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to independently plan, initiate and complete approved assignments.
* Demonstrated computer literacy.
* Demonstrated knowledge of external funding sources.
* Valid NC Driver's license and must be maintained.
