TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER – CLOUD SERVICES

ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Cloud Services Project Manager oversees the operational and quality delivery of cloud-based projects within their portfolio. This role ensures the effective design, execution, and continuous improvement of cloud solutions while fostering strategic relationships. It involves managing cross-functional teams focused on cloud architecture, implementation, and optimization to achieve specified business goals and technical objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Oversee, manage, and provide guidance to Project Managers and Coordinators responsible for delivering cloud services and solutions.

Serve as the primary escalation point for operational challenges related to cloud projects and internal stakeholders.

Lead complex cloud programs focused on delivering scalable and secure infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) solutions.

Drive cloud technology adoption while ensuring alignment with business objectives and maintaining a focus on fundamental principles such as security, performance, and cost management.

Standardize and document cloud architectures, service offerings, and integration points to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices in governance and compliance.

Lead teams in the execution of cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects, ensuring performance and reliability standards are met.

Mentor and train team members on essential cloud management practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) principles, and effective use of automation tools.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success metrics that align with overall business strategy.

Foster a culture of collaboration and performance, ensuring that teams are aligned on project goals and delivering value.

Maintain strong oversight of cloud governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with security and industry standards.

Provide expert-level guidance and support in decision-making, focusing on the core fundamentals of cloud operations.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

6-8+ years of project or program management experience, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Solid experience managing large-scale cloud projects, with a focus on the fundamentals of cloud infrastructure, scalability, security, and cost optimization.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and business impact to stakeholders at all levels.

Proven experience leading teams in the implementation of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.

Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and with a focus on key cloud fundamentals like security and performance.

Effective at managing client relationships and engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong experience with financial management of cloud services, particularly in managing consumption-based pricing models.

Ability to work cross-functionally to drive cloud solution delivery while maintaining alignment with business goals.

WHAT ELSE

Cloud fundamentals certification in any major platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to demonstrate proficiency in cloud services.

Any recognized project management certification (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, or equivalent), demonstrating strong program management expertise and methodology.

Strong understanding of core cloud services, including infrastructure (IaaS), platform (PaaS), and software (SaaS).

Experience in cloud migration strategies, including planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.

Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations specific to cloud environments (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).

Proven ability to manage hybrid or multi-cloud environments and integrate various cloud service providers.

Knowledge of cloud service agreements and vendor management in cloud ecosystems.
