* Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, humanities, or technical writing.

* Knowledge of grant writing and proposal development. Note: this is not a grant writer position, but a competitive applicant will have considerable grant writing experience.

* Knowledge of how to interpret a federal grant RFP and develop proposal components that are responsive to an RFP.

* Project management skills.

* Understand and synthesize faculty research; attention to detail in writing and formatting according to guidelines; critical thinking to assess and determine the best approach to secure funding.

* Skills needed to create, guide, lead, and track project development over a fixed timeline.

* Skill in collaborative platforms for meeting and writing; skill navigating funding sites, expectations, and submissions.

* Skill with formatting and details per funding guidelines; skill in synthesizing funding needs for faculty clients.

* Strong proposal writing and development skills are needed. Strong oral communication skills are needed for trainings, presentations, and meetings.

* Excellent interpersonal skills are needed to work within team that comprise people from a wide range of professional and educational backgrounds.

* Excellent problem solving skills are needed to inform and present the grant narrative effectively.

* Ability to follow federal agency guidelines for grants and sponsored projects.

* Ability to communicate effectively with agency program officers, university staff, and researchers.

* Ability to communicate effectively orally and writing using communication styles and content that are appropriate for highly competitive, high quality grant proposals.

* Skill in managing projects with strict deadlines.

* Ability to motivate a team with sometimes competing goals and interests.

* Ability to follow University policies and regulations regarding sponsored programs.

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing of client projects, including project details, deadlines, and communications.

Job Duties

* Write grant proposals in partnership with research development team and researchers.

* Prepare calendars, timelines, and work plans for the research development team and researchers with proposals in progress, manage meetings.

* Partnership and collaboration development.

* Coordinate major projects and initiatives that advance research development.

* Develop templates, resources, and related materials that are of broad use to the campus research community.

* Manage internal selection process for external, limited submission grant competitions.

* Identify and/or deliver grant-related training opportunities for campus stakeholders.

* Position is hybrid (remote and on-campus). Position is expected to have a presence on campus 50% of time, with that on-campus time spent interacting with colleagues and faculty researchers.
