Job Description PURPOSE OF POSITION A Project Manager, is responsible for overseeing the construction process for new build-outs, renovations, specification of furniture finishes equipment throughout the buildings' infrastructure including the exterior envelope. Their duties include upholding the use of quality materials and procedures, adhering to budgets to complete tasks or purchase materials and reviewing contracts to make sure that current practices align with the owner's expectations as well projects are completed on time. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES Working with the Construction Manager III, Head of Facilities and Capital Design and Construction to provide high Aside from the primary duty of overseeing a construction project, a Construction Manager will have other duties and responsibilities as well. Some of these duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works as part of the Project Team, assisting with the development of scope, cost, and schedule for project work.
  • Schedule project engagements to ensure accountability of team members
  • Ensure that the construction project complies with all safety and Medical Facility regulations.
  • Conduct an in-depth analysis of the project to come up with the deliverables.
  • Establish risk factors, then manage and mitigate them to ensure the construction goes on smoothly.
  • Work closely with Engineers to establish the requirements for the construction.
  • Review proposals for accuracy
  • Perform negotiations with vendors as needed
  • Leadership skills are needed in a managerial role because they will be in charge of delegating tasks to workers, subcontractors and other lower-level managers
  • Active management of projects to meet deadlines
  • Review proposals, and relevant project documentation
  • Secure and organize project closeout documentation
  • Must possess technical skills to interpret construction methods, contracts and drawings of the project
  • Meet assigned financial targets
  • Strong technical background in the MEP components of design and construction.
  • Proactively manage project-related issues on account or assignment.
  • Develop scope and schedules for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and track all Vendor RFP's. Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation.
  • Coordinate activities of sub-contractors and relocation of clinical functions.
Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university; and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administrating, managing, coordinating or expediting for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or 2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in 1 above; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in 1 above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or in public administration.
