EAD Engineering is looking for an experienced Project Manager for projects in industrial, processing, and life sciences/pharmaceutical production facilities. The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams of process/business experts, engineers, and designers to deliver client projects on time, within budget and to scope. They are also the primary point of contact for our clients from closing the sale to successful project execution. Responsibilities
  • Ensure projects are delivered with a great customer experience
  • Adhere to EAD's proven project management processes and SOPs
  • Manage client's project expectations and requirements
  • Sign client/firm agreement, if legally qualified within the limits of EAD signatory policy
  • Maintain understanding of project financial imperatives
  • Authorize billing to client
  • Assess project reporting including resource allocation, utilization and project profitability
  • Track project costs, schedules, performance and safety
  • Communicate, escalate and resolve complex client issues
  • Act as single point of contact to the client, senior-level project managers and company executives
  • Track and deliver project metrics
  • Mentor and coach team members
  • Report to senior and executive management
  • Lead multiple, large, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Adhere to all EAD's safety standards and practices
  • Lead preparation of proposals including scope definition, schedule development and budget estimates
  • Develop business opportunities and provide sales/marketing support and assistance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, Construction, Controls or Civil Engineering and five to ten years of relevant project management working experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • PMP certified required
  • High level interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive level
  • High attention to detail and strict adherence to established procedures, regulatory guidelines, quality requirements and standards
  • Understand current GMP regulation, regulatory agency guidelines and industry practices
  • Understand sanitary design standards
  • Experience with clean room facilities (ISO 1 through ISO 8) and aseptic design principles
  • Ability to interface effectively with Life Science professionals during the design process
  • Ability to develop User Requirements, SOPs, and assist with Commissioning/Qualification of installed equipment and systems
  • Understand and follow formal change management processes
  • Knowledge of sterile drug product manufacturing and clinical development operations and equipment
  • Familiarity with the following Equipment/Unit Operations is desirable: Walk-In Cold Rooms, Fermenters/Bioreactors, Filtration Systems, Purification and Separation, Formulation and Fill/Finish, Sterilization and Validation, Autoclaves, Blending, Granulation, Milling, Coating, Tablet Pressing
  • Conceptual design knowledge of fume hoods, laminar flow hoods, ventilated balance enclosures, pressurization schemes, differential pressure controls, and zoning plans
  • Familiarity with purified water systems (WFI, WBSO), waste solvent systems, aqueous waste, glycol, and clean utilities utilized in Life Science facilities
  • Conceptual design knowledge of standard laboratory gas installations (Helium, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, oil-free air)
  • Possess and able to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS Project required
Preferred Certifications and Skills:
  • Engineering consulting firm experience, LEED-AP and/or CEM credential is a plus
Working Conditions:
  • Office, plant, or client site environment*
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
  • Periodic weekend, holiday or evening work as needed
  • Travel and/or field experience required
