The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating the inventory, finances, labor and transportation needs for the smooth operations of the rental projects, creating strong client relationships for all projects managed. They are responsible for the project staff assigned to the project and the achievement of a technical project within one or several of the following areas: sound, lighting, video or rigging.

Your day will look like this:

  • Act as Solotechs representative on events specific site, coordinate onsite operations and ensure all steps of the technical realization are executed within foreseen delays.
  • In collaboration with the Sales and Design team, assist in the development of the scope of the project as needed.
  • Develop and manage the different phases of the project(s), including schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables.
  • Participate in kick off meetings, recurring project meetings, and post-mortem
  • Participate in the monitoring of financial budget
  • Organize meetings with internal teams and clients as needed throughout project development and execution
  • Ensure the integration and synchronization of the various teams involved
  • Working with the Labor Assignments team to meet client expectations, as well as with the salesperson to select project labor, and manage the training, safety and quality of project labor, including termination and replacement of project staff if needed.
  • Manage, support and coach the project staff, (audio, lighting, video, or rigging) in their daily management of equipment
  • Collaborate with the Design and Engineering team through the installation and commissioning phases of the project
  • Provide reporting throughout the project including schedule of values, daily project updates, change orders, and project revisions
  • Act as a liaison, and maintain communication, with clients, general contractors (including sub- contractors), architects, and internal team.
  • Maintain project database(s)
  • Ensure that the required quality standards as stipulated in the contract documents are applied
  • Obtain all required permits and approvals of organizations for the implementation of projects
  • Supervise the execution of tasks to ensure good health and safety practices.
  • Ensure the health and safety on sites through training, prevention, and compliance
  • Maintain communication and project updates with Solotech management.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile:

  • Bachelors in audiovisual, stage techniques or any other equivalent training; or five years hands on experience in event production or another relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a live event production or touring
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Crew Chief Experience a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory software (an asset)
  • Basic knowledge of drawing software
  • Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge in live event production equipment
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Flexible work schedule, night and weekend availability required.
  • Ability to manage a team.

  • Ability to communicate information in a logical and clear way.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.

  • Time will be spent on event sites.
  • Environment may be fast paced, dark, cold, and hot.
