Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead and oversee mailroom operations support in Edgewood, MD. This role involves coordinating mailroom activities, ensuring timely and efficient processing, and maintaining the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will excel in managing projects, improving operational processes, and driving team performance.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and manage all mailroom operations to ensure timely distribution and receipt of mail and packages.
- Develop and implement efficient mailroom processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure mailroom services align with organizational needs.
- Supervise and train mailroom staff to maintain high performance and compliance with policies.
- Monitor and analyze mailroom metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols in mailroom operations.
- Handle escalations and resolve any operational issues promptly.
- Prepares daily and monthly reporting for review by customer.
- Schedules maintenance and repair of delivery van.
- Submit work orders for building repairs.
- Tracks daily accountability for staff and approves timesheets and leave requests.
- Maintains petty cash account for fuel.
- Perform mail clerk duties as needed.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field or 7 years of supervisory experience in a mail services environment
- Secret Clearance is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with FedEx shipping
- Proven experience in managing mailroom or similar operational support roles.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
