GRADE: 14NON-BARGAINING UNIT FLSA: EXEMPTBASIC FUNCTION The Project Manager (Operations and System Transformation), will work closely with functional and cross-functional teams, as well as institutional leaders at all levels. They will be responsible for leading high-priority, large, and complex planning initiatives, managing project planning and implementation, and supporting the general work of Transformation, including projects related to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization. As part of this role, this person will work to understand and balance the needs of project stakeholders, identify key risks and dependencies, and employ discipline and creativity to create project plans that meet organizational objectives and deliver results.This position is contingent on receipt of continued funding from external sources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead projects and planning initiatives critical to the success of Transformation, such as technical systems change or replacement, organizational and business process transformation, and resource planning.
- Develop project plans and documentation and communicate project status and issues.
- Use data and analytics to assess performance and efficiency, and to benchmark improvements in resource utilization, operational processes, and functional practices.
- Provide planning, project management, and execution support to leaders of Transformation teams and sub-teams to ensure they stay on track with objectives and deliverables.
- Work with team leaders and other stakeholders to identify key dependencies, resource conflicts, risks, and opportunities across projects and initiatives.
- Assist team leaders in creating and updating the project plans, documentation, and communication needed to ensure transparency and alignment with the expectations of project sponsors and stakeholders.
- Work in partnership with internal and external partners system-wide to support project implementation,
- Develop presentations and present, as needed, on project status.

SUPERVISION RECEIVEDReports to the Director of Project and Change Management with project-specific direction received from shared services and functional leaders.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, project or change management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing complex projects or planning initiatives.
- Experience managing projects related to business processes, enterprise software, and/or other integrated business and information systems.
- Experience working with a variety of project management or product development processes (plan-driven, waterfall, agile).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing projects in a higher education environment.
- Project management certification such as PMP or similar.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESKnowledge of:
- Functional understanding of business processes, data architecture, enterprise software, and other integrated business and information systems.
- Working knowledge of project management software including MS Project, Wrike, MS Teams or similar.

- Strong knowledge of change management principles and practices.

Location and Funding:This position can be based on any of the Vermont State Colleges System campuses or centers, hybrid or remote. Occasional travel within Vermont or other locations may be required. The incumbent must reside within and be eligible to work in the United States. This position is dependent on the availability of designated transformation or systems project funding. The position is funded for a minimum of two years.NOTE: This job is subject to a criminal background check.
