Job Summary:The Project Manager is responsible for leading and executing a portfolio of pension-related projects and programs. This role ensures alignment with organizational standards and strategies while adhering to PMO-defined methodologies, best practices, and tools. The Project Manager will oversee all project management functions, including scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and communication, while fostering strong relationships with business unit leads and leadership teams to meet project goals effectively.This position involves managing medium- to large-scale projects or multiple small-scale initiatives and supporting PMO efforts. The role also includes directing project teams and ensuring the implementation of best practices for project management to drive successful outcomes.The Project Manager will report to the Delivery Leader, Director of Project Delivery, or Director of Support Services, taking full accountability for achieving project objectives, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and aligning with broader organizational goals.Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership:
- Develop project charters and detailed project plans.
- Maintain budgets, estimates at completion (EAC), and progress tracking for percentage of completion.
- Manage project integration, scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks, and procurement.
- Lead medium-to-large-scale projects while managing interdependencies and aligning with organizational objectives.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit leads and leadership teams.
- Ensure consistent stakeholder involvement and alignment with project goals.
- Communicate progress and incorporate feedback from all project stakeholders.
Operational Excellence:
- Adhere to PMO standards and methodologies to ensure consistent delivery.
- Proactively identify and address risks and issues impacting project delivery.
- Monitor project governance and implement controls for budget, scope, and schedule management.
- Track and report on project deliverables to ensure alignment with intended benefits.
Team Management and Development:
- Direct and mentor project team members, including coordinators and technical resources.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture to achieve project objectives.
- Promote adherence to project management best practices.
Portfolio Support:
- Assist in prioritizing projects and preparing project-related documentation, including charters, risk assessments, and budgets.
- Provide recommendations to portfolio management to support decision-making and governance processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Required Skills:
- Proven expertise in project management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
- Strong negotiation and facilitation skills to manage project meetings and vendor relationships.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex environments.
- Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with a focus on risk mitigation, scope management, and change management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- PMP certification preferred.
- Strong experience with enterprise-level software implementations and resource management.
Work Environment:
- Fully remote position with occasional travel to client locations as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain stationary for most of the day and frequently operate a computer.
- Regular communication through telephone and video conferencing tools such as Teams.
