Apply your expertise in new ways to continue your path of growth as a Remote Service Project Manager in Valmet's Automation Business Line. From signed contract to accepted delivery, the Service Project Manager is fully responsible to lead and manage projects that resolve identified business needs within agreed time-schedules, budgets and quality standards. Some of the main tasks are:
  • Provide the main interface and maintain a confident relationship with the customer, and other participants in the Project and internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Carry the overall technical and financial responsibility of the project by efficiently and effectively leading the nominated Project organization.
  • Plan and coordinate all activities during project execution, such as engineering, logistics, FAT, customer training, commissioning and Start Up.
  • Ensure guarantees are fulfilled as per contract.
Expectations: To excel in the role, you should have a solid understanding of the business and technology, strong attention to detail and the desire to support and work closely with coworkers and customers. To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Masters or Bachelors Degree in Engineering within the area of E&I or Automation or Chemical Engineering within the area of Paper Making or Combustion.
  • Five to Ten years of experience in the fields of Pulp&Paper, Power or other heavy Process industries.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a Project lead position in the above-mentioned fields. (I.e Project Lead Engineer.) and/or One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in a Project Manager position in the above-mentioned fields.
  • Knowledge of Automation Control systems in the above-mentioned fields. (Knowledge of Valmet DNA and other Valmet Control systems is a strong advantage.)
  • Being able to fluently communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Due to our business in Mexico and in the French speaking part of Canada, knowledge of in Spanish or French is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
