The Project Manager for the Special Projects Group within the Service Division is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and delivering specialized HVAC and plumbing projects. This role focuses on ensuring the successful execution of small to mid-sized projects, managing client relationships, and providing technical expertise while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Requirements
- Project Planning & Execution:Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of special projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality work.
- Client Management:Serve as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.Understand client needs, provide solutions, and deliver projects that exceed client expectations.Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates on project milestones.
- Budget Management & Cost Control:Monitor and control project costs to ensure adherence to the approved budget.Review and approve project-related invoices, expenses, and change orders.Provide financial forecasting and reporting on project performance.
- Team Collaboration:Work closely with internal service teams, including estimators, engineers, and field staff, to ensure smooth project delivery.Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork.Support the development and training of junior team members.
- Quality & Safety Oversight:Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and quality standards.Address any safety concerns or project discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).5+ years of project management experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or construction.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and service operations.PMP or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.
- Skills & Competencies:Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively manage client relationships and project teams.Proficient in project management software, including Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar tools.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Additional Requirements:Ability to travel to job sites as required.Valid driver's license.
