The NYC Department of Buildings is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager to help with implementation and program management of policy initiatives and local laws related to sustainable buildings and enforced by the Department, including LL97. The selected candidatewill report directly to the Deputy Director of Sustainability Implementation and Program Management.

The Sustainability Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

- Assist with meeting planning and attend and document meetings with industry stakeholders, city agencies, and/or elected officials and their staff regarding technical issues;

- Plan, organize, and support research or studies of a technical nature;

- Assemble information to support the teams investigations and enforcement actions, including the issuance and resolution of violations

- Participate in the creation and delivery of training and educational documentation for internal staff and the public with respect to the Energy Code, Construction Codes, and sustainable building solutions;

- Work with staff to translate business needs into technical documentation that supports the Departments business processes such as standard operating procedures, reference/user guides, fact sheets, bulletins, service notices, etc.; and maintain a searchable library of such documentation;

- Liaise with the Departments Strategic Planning and Implementation personnel regarding department operational process changes to align with policy agendas and legislated directives, including design of process flows, engineering staffing needs, and an understanding of IT implications;

- Review, track, and coordinate responses to inquiries from the public with regard to the requirements for annual energy and water usage, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting;

- Assisting other staff in the Bureau of Sustainability and Office of Technical Affairs and Code Development as needed;

- Work efficiently, effectively, and creatively with minimal direction under aggressive deadlines; and;

- Communicating the Agencys core mission and message to customers with the goal of improving public perception and clearly communicating initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular position.
