We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with some level of engineering and energy background to join our team and help drive the success of our distributed energy projects. Job Description: As a Project Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing projects that focus on renewable energy, microgrids, energy storage, and other distributed energy solutions. You will be responsible for planning and executing projects while ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Your role will also involve creating proposals and budgets for new projects, managing cross-functional teams, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are met. Responsibilities: Project Planning: Work with the customer and subcontractors to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, budget, and timelines. Ensure alignment with company objectives and industry standards. Participate in the overall system layouts and design, creating layouts, schematic & general system sizing criteria. Project Due Diligence and Analysis: Review customer data, participate in site investigations and perform initial project feasibility to identify project potential. Includes collecting & reviewing customer utility data, existing site drawings and proposed equipment proposals, specification sheets and drawings. Team Management: Participate in weekly/monthly project meetings/calls with cross functional project teams, defining roles and responsibilities, and providing clear direction to team members, vendors, sub-contractors, and project partners. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment. Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project budgets and resource allocation, adjusting, as necessary. Control project costs and ensure efficient resource utilization. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively manage issues that may impact project success. Stakeholder Communication: Establish effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, local utilities (gas and electric) and internal teams. Provide regular project status updates and address inquiries or concerns. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet industry and company standards. Schedule Management: Create and maintain project schedules, identifying critical paths and potential bottlenecks. Manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and post-project evaluations. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices within the distributed energy industry. Implement lessons learned from previous projects. Job Requirements Details: Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. 2. 5+ years of experience in project management within the distributed energy industry, general engineering, or mechanical/civil construction. 3. Must be able to read and interpret MEP engineering & construction drawings. 4. Experience with submitting plans, reviewing plan check comments, and pulling permits. 4. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is not required, but is a plus. 4. Strong knowledge of distributed energy technologies, renewable energy, and general mechanical/civil construction practices. 5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 6. Proficiency in MS Office suite, Adobe PDF and project management software. Familiarity with Bluebeam and AutoCAD is not required, but a plus. 7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
