The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, specifically in water and wastewater systems, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop and manage project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Lead project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight for water/wastewater projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, and pumping stations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and present project status reports, proposals, and technical documents.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Implement and oversee quality control and assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet high standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures as needed.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and address project risks and issues as they arise.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing water/wastewater projects.
- Strong knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes, pipeline design, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
