Position Type: Student Support ServicesDate Posted: 2/16/2024Location: Albany High ComplexPOSITION ANNOUNCEMENT February 16, 2024 POSITION: Project Prevent District Site Coordinator LOCATION: Albany High Complex JOB SUMMARY: The goal of the Project Prevent (DCP) grant is to implement community and elementary school based strategies to prevent community violence and mitigate exposure to communityviolence. Under the direction of the Project Director, the District Site Coordinator will work as a liaison between Dougherty County School System (DCSS) elementary schools and project partners to manage project activities at the school level. A critical role of the coordinator will be the promotion and connection of students and their families' needed services. The coordinator will collaborate with the director and supporting partners to plan and execute project activities and training and ensure data is collected for project evaluation and federal reporting purposes. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, master's preferred in education, social work, counseling or a related field; Minimum of three (3) years' experience working directly with a high-need, underserved elementary students; Experience in collection, analysis and presentation data; Extensive knowledge and skills relating to Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS), Restorative Practices and/or Social and Emotional Support; Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Effective oral and written communication skills; Ability to design and deliver professional development, including evaluation of impact; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, students, parents and the community; Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including work as directed outside the school calendar. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide guidance and support to schools by assisting with readiness activities/plans, identifying training needs, coordinating and facilitating training, working with schools to prepare for training, linking school teams to supporting resources, performing site visits and positively promoting and reinforcing school progress; Trains and provides ongoing technical assistance and data analysis support to staff who use school-wide data collection systems; Collects and monitors school and district databases to track and analyze student behavioral data; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills; Participates in regional, statewide and national leadership conferences and meetings; Attends training provided by the federal government and other District meetings as required; Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
