Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is On-Site at the location detailed in the job post.Minimum Salary105000Maximum Salary145000Job DescriptionThe Project Specialist will oversee the tracking and management of employees who are absent due to an injury or illness. Will assess gaps in the current sick absence approval process and recommend improvements to track more efficiently those out sick and return employees to work as well as enhance employee satisfaction with sick absence process.Monitor the nurse case manager group who authorize sick absences, Family Medical Leave (FMLA), and maternity leave for union employees; authorize FMLA to care for family members for union employees; communicate with Company's Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for Short Term Disability (STD) management employee sick absences and long-term disability and NYS Paid Family Leave for management and Union employees; perform chart reviews and coordinate process improvement activities.ResponsibilitiesCore ResponsibilitiesComplete a gap analysis of the union and management sick approval process, identify areas of improvement, and work with the Absence Management group to implement process and procedure changes.Document sick pay process and procedure changes and ensure all Company policies and Conor (internal website) has correct information.Troubleshoot escalated Union and Management sick pay issues or problems and find a resolution for employees.Oversee and manage the Registered Nurses (RN) and support staff.Communicate with TPA regarding management employee sick absences and long-term disability as needed.Coordinate administration of NYS Paid Family Leave with TPAWork with the electronic record system (Cority) support group to implement system changes to improve sick pay processing.Participate in team projects as needed.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualificationsRequired Education/ExperienceMaster's Degree Nursing, Health Policy Administration, Public Health, or Business or four years' experience.Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Health Policy Administration, Public Health, or Business. or six years' experience.Relevant Work ExperienceMust have at least 4 years' experience managing a team of direct reports. RequiredKnowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. RequiredStrong written and oral communication skills. RequiredClinical or nursing case management experience. RequiredStrong understanding of FMLA regulations. PreferredDemonstrate an understanding of sick and disability management. PreferredExperience working with union population.
