Job Title Project Specialist II Location Waterloo, IA 50703 US (Primary) Job Description The Project Specialist II is an integral team member of the assigned studio, working on a variety of projects and serving on various project teams. Project Specialist II is an intermediate support position for the Project Manager and/or Project Architect in the production of construction documents and drawings. Guidance and supervision are provided by the Project Manager and/or Project Architect on work assignments related to specific projects and skill advancement. The Studio Partner provides overall direction to the work of the project teams and the Project Specialist II. Responsibilities (others may be assigned): COMMUNICATION

  • Communicate as directed with internal and external team members on task assignments
COLLABORATION
  • Assist in the conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation using Revit/BIM processes according to direction provided by Project Manager, Architect and/or Project Architect
  • Produce graphic depictions including perspectives/renderings/photo-realistic renderings from Revit model using Enscape
  • Assist in the preparation of project presentations
  • Contact consultants and engineers to advance the work of the project
  • Attend project meetings and present information, answer questions, and follow up on any necessary actions
STANDARDS AND CODES
  • Demonstrate competence in the PRA Working Drawing Checklist and modeling standards
  • Assist with research on products, codes and ordinances to determine project compliance, and make recommendations to support the project team
  • Collaborate with Project Architect to complete shop drawing reviews, Requests for Interpretations (RFI's), Construction Bulletins (CB's), and addenda
  • Conduct field measuring and investigations as assigned by Project Manager and/or Architect
Job Requirements Desired Qualifications/Knowledge:
  • Minimum associates degree in Architecture. Bachelors or masters degree preferred
  • One or more years' experience as Project Specialist I or equivalent Architectural design/drafting experience
  • Demonstrate success and knowledge growth in the position of Project Specialist I
  • Proficiency in Revit/BIM process
  • Cursory understanding of Request for Proposal (RFP) process
  • Cursory understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering systems
  • Ability to understand construction documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence that are professional, concise and appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to Travel between the Office and Client/Job Sites. Valid Driver's License and access to an insured vehicle during business hours
  • Ability to present information to and answer questions from the internal project team and external clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Willingness to work in a team environment to achieve desired results
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks to meet project deadlines
