Job Description The Property Administrator is a key member of the Property Management Team within Research Financial Operations at Boston University and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of University policies and procedures related to moveable capital equipment. Major duties of this position also include:
- Process purchase requisitions with orders of moveable capital equipment.
- Maintain asset data within the moveable capital equipment database.
- Ensure that all moveable capital equipment is property tagged, identified, and accounted for within the University's property management system.
- Perform physical inventories of moveable capital equipment. Work conditions include traversing the campus and going to and through buildings, shifting and lifting items weighing approximately 25 pounds, bending and stretching to access confined spaces in order to scan and tag items, and entering areas not accessible by stairs or elevator.
- Provide customer service to department personnel across the University and resolve issues pertaining to moveable capital equipment.
- Educate and enforce University policies and procedures related to moveable capital equipment.
- Assist management with ad hoc projects, property data analysis, and other related assignments as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in a university or customer service environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be highly detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize routine tasks and ad-hoc requests.
- Intermediate skills utilizing Excel, including complex formulas to acquire, organize, and analyze data.
- Ability to work (both independently and in conjunction with others) effectively and cooperatively in a small, collegial team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with analyzing detailed records, legacy accounting systems, and SAP.
