MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience in property, inventory control or administrative duties.
Experience in property, inventory control or administrative duties can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

JOB DUTIES:
This is property control and purchasing work coordinating the purchase, inventory, location, assignment, movement, and disposal of state and federal excess property for the Aircraft Operations Section in support of a statewide fleet of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters. Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner. Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures.
Designs and implements complex inventory record-keeping systems and maintains records for a wide variety of accountable and non-accountable property, equipment, and materials in a large and complex aviation operation. Assigns property numbers and tags to accountable equipment, records age, condition, and value. Initiates forms for the transfer of equipment. Compiles reports and inventory data; stores and retrieves parts and equipment; obtains, transports, and delivers property.
Purchases parts and materials in accordance with state and department purchasing rules and regulations; inputs stockage data into computer for inventory control; prepares work orders and other documents when parts are removed from inventory; ensures timely processing of purchasing documents; prepares inventories and reports from databases and hard copies.
Ensures the condition of the parts warehouse in a neat orderly, fashion to facilitate timely stockage and retrieval of parts; ensures accountability of warehouse; ensures that items are stored in such a manner as to preclude theft, loss, or damage; maintains maintenance section library; inputs data to encumbrance and fleet management databases, maintains individual aircraft records.
Accounts for state and federal excess property in the care of the Aviation Section. Disposes of surplus property and accounts for all funds generated through these sales.
Performs related work as required.
