ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fixes handrails, carpets, and wood trim. Paints, repairs, and conducts routine troubleshooting.Responds in a timely manner to requests for carpentry and general maintenance assistance. Maintains positive public relations with casino guests and employees.Reports violations of carpentry equipment or general maintenance use to the supervisor.Performs maintenance, including construction, plumbing, and sewage. Uses other related technical skills to service, repair, replace, and protect physical assets of the resort, as directed.Monitors all maintenance to ensure the safety and protection of casino guests and employees.Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag and gaming license.Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities. Prior to taking action, exercises caution and evaluates circumstances for appropriate security and safety response. Keeps the supervisor informed of any concerns. Performs all duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, internal policies and procedures, and Colorado Limited Gaming Regulations.Within the realm of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated knowledge of pertinent building codes. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and a demonstrated experience applying carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills to repair and maintain facilities and equipment.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or the equivalent in education or experience. Completion of a Trade School Education in carpentry is preferred. Two (2) or more years of recent and related carpentry trade experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.REASONING ABILITY: Decisions are limited to within the scope of essential duties.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must have a valid Driver's License, with a good driving record. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: The ability to problem solve and generate solutions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, including frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may involve working in small, confined areas, with floors which are or may become slippery in the process of conducting work activities. Essential duties require lifting from 50 to 75 pounds to stack, store, or move materials, supplies, and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours occasionally required. In the event of a facility emergency, the incumbent must be on-call and available.WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working near large numbers of people in an inside and outside environment, which is subject to extreme temperature changes and adverse weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, cold, and heat. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Various carpentry or trades related equipment, including safety boots, aprons, safety glasses, acids, vacuum pumps, saws, flash lights, and socket sets.
