Responsibilities Assists in monitoring space allocation and real property throughout the organization. Conducts analyses, reviews, and studies directly related to asset management. Handles asset survey reports and manages leasing agreements. Maintains inventory records according to regulatory compliance. Operates automated software to input data, process adjustments and corrections, and retrieve reports. Directs the acquisition, management, inventory, and disposal of personal property like office equipment and technology. Provides advice and assistance to leadership regarding space planning and allocation. Works directly with the building owner to resolve problems of needed repair, janitorial services, parking, heating, air condition, lighting, power, and security issues. Collaborates with fleet managers across programs/Field Offices and other stakeholders to ensure vehicle safety and regulatory compliance. Provides guidance and training to staff on property management. You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: assisted with overseeing the receipt, distribution, and disposition of system-controlled personal property, including fleet; procured supplies and other work-related property in accordance with financial and regulatory guidelines; assisted with property management accountability; and, used spreadsheets and/or financial database software to track property, fleet, and/or purchases. OR Education: earned a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree OR LL.B. or J.D. (if related). Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) - OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Only graduate education in excess of one year may be used to qualify. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. Physical Demands: The physical requirements are those generally associated with an office or warehouse environment. The work requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, driving, and occasionally lifting and moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The incumbent operates a variety of motor vehicles. Situations can be expected to dictate working out in the open or in the less comfortable surroundings and a variety of field conditions. Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an office or warehouse setting. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The incumbent may be out of door in unfavorable conditions relating to supply, real and personal property, warehouse, and fleet management duties.
