Description
The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 12 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquire skills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Develops and issues request for quotes to vendors.
* Research's and creates requisitions for goods and non-professional services when the expenditures amount exceeds the agency's small purchase authority.
* Coordinates with various departments for input to the contract requests.
* Creates delivery orders and purchase order for purchases.
* Complete the purchase order, receives approval and forward the approved purchase order to the vendor for processing.
* Reviews request for local purchases by phone in in writing, authorizes such purchases in accordance with the model procurement code.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High School Graduate
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in the inventory, control, sales or disposal, or acquisition of property, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience up to two years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
