Title: Proposal Manager - Automotive Automation Assembly Systems
Description:
The Proposal Manager will be responsible for directing and managing a team of Proposal
Leaders and Proposal Engineers and to develop technical solutions and proposals to tender
offers customers which are efficient and competitive in today's marketplace.
In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the
following responsibilities:
Proposal Manager Direct Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, develop and support the proposals team and cross-functional
departments in the development of automated manufacturing processes & value
propositions.
* Organize information and instruct / monitor the proposal team's adherence to the P2
process (milestones) and usage of the process, proposal & estimating tools / templates
& other requirements.
* Assist in conjunction with the proposals team to define the strategy for completing
proposals and creating quote task timing to meet due dates.
* Proposal resource planning, working closely with sales to know current & expected
RFP's and future OA strategies. Includes future personnel planning & recruiting.
* Collaborate with Sales along with the customer during the proposal phase to define the
most competitive and effective solutions.
* Review offers for technical merit and financial effectiveness.
* Lead departmental improvement projects and ensure complete/current KPI records.
Ensure consistency among team members and proposals.
* Conduct team performance reviews, objective setting, and development plans.
* Lead weekly proposal review meeting in which all current or submitted proposals are
reviewed and discussed with cross-functional departments and senior management.
* Support the development of high-level budgetary quotes.
* Create cost-effective multi-country sourcing strategies to be implemented during offer
development.
* Collaborate directly with engineering & planning groups both in the US
and other countries.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field.
* Experience leading teams in Proposal Development, Engineering, or Project
Management, or related discipline.
* Experience leading proposal development of manufacturing production systems such as
Body Assembly Automation, BIW, Robotic Welding systems and General Assembly.
* Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing automation system experience in one or more of
the following areas: Proposal & Estimating, Engineering or Project Management.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* A working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite tools.
* Ability and willingness for limited travel (0 - 20%).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience managing teams in process, system layout or proposal development.
* Experience in project management or engineering and working knowledge of project
deliverables and milestones.
