Job Functions & Responsibilities • Perform engineering design for the protection and control and associated communication systems • Perform system disturbance analysis and recommend protective relaying system modification and/or additions, if required. • Perform short circuit studies and other calculations as required to establish relay settings • Perform NERC / NPCC compliance related tasks • Provide site support during project commissioning or disturbance investigation. Skills • Proficient in the engineering and design of Protection and Control systems specific to the electric utility industry. • Working knowledge of protective relaying systems and their various components. • Familiarity with developing relay settings and understanding of calculations • Familiarity with programming microprocessor-based protective relays • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Education & Certifications • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree, from an accredited college or university.
