Job Title: Protection and Control Engineer Location: White Plains, NY Duration: 12 Months Pay Range: $60.00 to $70.00 Project Overview:
- The Protection and Control Engineer will develop design solutions for company's protection and control and associated communication systems, perform system disturbance analysis and recommend protective relaying system modifications and/or additions.
- This role will assure adherence to applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards to maintain and operate company assets.
- This role will support the current qualified resource gap in protection and control engineering.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design for the protection and control and associated communication systems.
- Perform system disturbance analysis and recommend protective relaying system modification and/or additions, if required.
- Perform short circuit studies and other calculations as required to establish relay settings.
- Perform NERC / NPCC compliance related tasks.
- Provide site support during project commissioning or disturbance investigation.
Skills:
- Proficient in the engineering and design of Protection and Control systems specific to the electric utility industry.
- Working knowledge of protective relaying systems and their various components.
- Familiarity with developing relay settings and understanding of calculations.
- Familiarity with programming microprocessor-based protective relays.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Education & Certifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree, from an accredited college or university.
