Protein Scientist

Direct Hire Full-Time Role

Salary Range: $109,200 - $130,000 per year

Location: South San Francisco, CA - Onsite Role

Job Summary:

We are developing a platform for engineering mammalian cells to increase productivity for therapeutic protein or virus production. The successful candidate will be an experienced and independent molecular/cellular biologist, motivated to further develop our technology toward full commercialization. Present and future management responsibilities will depend on experience and development within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work will involve cell engineering, mammalian cell culture, cloning and screening, flow cytometry, and other related molecular and cellular biology techniques.
• Collaborate with co-workers and with pharmaceutical company partners.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• PhD in a related field or an equivalent amount of experience
• Multiple years of experience with recombinant mammalian cell line creation, preferably for one or more pharmaceutical companies
• Must have experience with Protein Production techniques for screening transfected cells
• Mammalian cell culture expertise

Preferred Skills:

• Project management experience
• Mammalian protein analytical methods
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment related to creating and testing cells destined for GMP manufacturing
• Photomicroscopy
