Find your purpose at the Provider Record Assistant at CentraCare. The Provider Record Assistant analyzes inpatient and outpatient health records for accuracy, completeness and compliance. Ensures a comprehensive legal health record according to The Joint Commission, MN Department of Health, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Medical Staff Rules and Regulations and additional government regulations. Assigns deficiencies to appropriate providers to complete documentation and follows up with ancillary departments to locate missing documentation.
Schedule:
* Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks
* Mon-Fri Day hours
* Can be worked from home after successful training in-office for a minimum of 3 months.
Pay & Benefits:
* Starting pay is $17.32 per hour; exact rate of pay determined by years of related experience
* Pay range: $15.96-$23.96

Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Completion of a Health Information Technology program is strongly preferred.
* One year of Health Information experience is preferred.
* Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) accreditation preferred.
* Experience with documentation analysis is preferred.
* Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
* Experience in prioritization and problem solving skills required.
* Must have excellent customer service skills.
* Must be knowledgeable in the area of confidentiality.
* Ability to work independently and utilize critical thinking skills.
Core Functions:
* Analyzes Required inpatient and outpatient encounters assuring provider documentation is complete.
* Verifies the accuracy of the documents within the Health Record assuring they belong to the correct patient and encounter.
* Inputs incomplete documentation information into the electronic health record deficiency system and assigns the provider to complete the documentation.
* Follow up on missing documentation to ensure the completion of the record.
* Reports any trends regarding documentation issues that are discovered in the analysis process to the appropriate avenue to be addressed.
* Utilizes the Chart Deficiency Tracking function in EHR to monitor the age of incomplete records.
* Notifies providers when records are overdue according to Medical Staff Bylaws.
* Communicates to the Medical Staff Office those providers with overdue incomplete records.
* Maintains logs of all providers placed on suspension list, including number of days.
* Notifies all appropriate departments when provider is removed from suspension process.
* Participates in setting and reporting quality and productivity standards for analysis functions.
* Participates in quality improvement activities and medical peer reviews.
* Produces incomplete record statistics that are forwarded to the appropriate medical review committee.
* Shares responsibility for training new staff on job functions utilizing EHR.
