We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.ORGANIZATION OVERVIEWAn increasing number of Americans - most of whom are womenand people of color - are employed in service sector jobs that are marked by low wages, no health care, job insecurity, and lack of training and career advancement opportunities. The SEIU Education & Support Fund tackles these issues by designing and facilitating worker-centered, relationship-based, and accessible education, training and workforce development programs. We serve as a strategic partner to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and collaborate with other unions, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and employers to help workers access good jobs and spark positive social change. Throughout our work, we promote a culture of empowerment that honors experience, culture, diversity, and inclusion.PROGRAM OVERVIEWChild Care Providers United Training Fund is a coalition of organizations united by a shared vision for lifting up the leadership of family child care providers in California, the majority of whom are women of color and immigrants. Family child care providers, who run child care businesses out of their homes, represent an essential workforce in California and are drivers of economic regeneration and community health. Our providers work with the state to provide subsidized care services for our most underserved families and have a unique role in leveling the playing field, ensuring that all children, regardless of income, have access to quality care and education. Our early childhood educators create the foundation for wellbeing and academic success for children across the state, positively shaping our next generation. All staff members are employees of SEIU Education & Support Fund (ESF). Our Child Care Providers United (CCPU) Training Fund team members are remotely dispersed across the state of California.POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a Provider Training & Support Coordinator with a broad set of relational and facilitation skills to create engaging learning experiences for improving the quality of early child care and empowering family child care educators. This is a full-time position working as part of a small but mighty team of smart and empathetic self-starters who value you for your Sí, se puede attitude and your commitment to justice and equity. This position will be primarily provider-facing. The Provider Training & Support Coordinator will ensure that providers feel valued, supported and respected in all their experiences with the CCPU Training Fund. The Provider Training & Support Coordinator will ensure that providers are well-informed and supported to meet their program commitments and administrative requirements. This position will also ensure that providers are supported to grow as leaders throughout our programs. Perhaps the most exciting opportunity here is the chance to build a grow our own program to train family child care educators to be qualified providers of professional development for their peers. This person will report directly to the Training and Professional Development Manager.RESPONSIBILITIESCultivate strong, trusting relationships with family child care educators which will include:• Lead meaningful in-person conversations, friendly visits to homes, welcoming phone calls, attending and assisting at committee meetings where providers are in attendance and/or leading, and technical assistance as neededSupport worker-led professional development:• Provide continuous support by building a diverse and engaged facilitation and coaching team• Develop curricula in child development, leading training, and orientations• Develop and curate program materials• Participate in an iterative educational design process aimed at ensuring worker-center professional development• Facilitate, recruit, train, and support contract-based trainers to work in alignment with our training principles• Assist in application process for recruitment• Deliver evaluations and synthesizing feedback into reports; incorporating feedback from evaluations into revised workshop agendas and follow-ups• Implement salesforce to generate certificates and emails for training• Assist providers with child development training courses, homework assignments, and address common questions and concerns• Create and manage WhatsApp provider groups• Coordinate and plan program virtual graduation• Support in-person child development trainings• Assist Language Justice support teamOther:• Perform other work-related duties like project planning and general administrationKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES• Has a deep belief that family child care providers in CA, a majority of whom are Black and brown women, possess deep wisdom and assets and should be decision-makers regarding program and policy decisions impacting their profession and livelihoods.• Is committed to a worker-centered, empowerment-based approach to training• Is able to work some evenings and weekends and travel within the state• Is flexible, comfortable working independently and is a sophisticated collaborator• Has excellent organization and communication skills; demonstrated initiative, flexibility, creativity, humility, and empathy• Is digital fluent and comfortable using technology tools including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, Trello, and Slack• Ability to communicate frequently and professionally to diverse stakeholders, project managing multiple projects at once, and innovating on excellence.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS• At least three years of increasing responsibility in a non-profit or labor union role• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, innovate newmethods/practices, brainstorm solutions to improve outcomes, and appropriate scale projects up or down.• Experience developing engaging curricula that integrates theories in child development and popular education, adult learning styles, and peer education• Excellent organization and communication skills; demonstrated initiative, flexibility, creativity, humility, and empathyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Perform other work-related duties like project planning and general administration• Deep understanding of unions or the childcare industry or childcare workers.• You are bilingual, especially in English and Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, or Russian.PAY AND BENEFITSWe offer competitive wages and top-notch benefits, including 100 percent employer paid medical, dental, and vision plans for the employee and eligible dependents; a defined benefit pension plan for retirement; paid holidays, sick leave, and personal days; and 4 weeks of vacation.
