SUMMARY
The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), one of the Nation's five Federal service academies, is seeking an inspiring and dynamic Provost to lead its academic mission. Located in historic Kings Point, New York, along the scenic north shore of Long Island, USMMA is a distinguished institution known for preparing leaders who serve the Nation's economic and security interests as merchant marine officers and commissioned officers in the U.S. armed forces.

THE ROLE OF THE PROVOST - As the Academy's chief academic officer, the Provost will:
- Academic Leadership: Ensure the highest levels of academic quality and standards, promoting scholarship, discovery, and student success.
- Sea Year Program: Direct the strategic vision for USMMA's renowned experiential learning program, prioritizing safety, well-being, and leadership development.
- Program Excellence: Oversee academic departments, ensuring Coast Guard licensing requirements, accrediting standards, and faculty credentials align with institutional goals.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Strengthen initiatives that celebrate diversity and address challenges such as sexual assault and harassment (SASH) on campus and during Sea Year.
- Operational Collaboration: Partner with DOT, MARAD, and other federal and maritime institutions to address programmatic challenges and achieve institutional priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent USMMA at the highest levels, fostering trust through transparency and proactive communication with Congress, industry leaders, and the public.

This Senior Executive Service (SES) role requires a five-page resume demonstrating qualifications in both Technical and Executive Core areas:
Technical Qualifications (TQs):
- TQ1: Demonstrated executive level experience as a senior administrator at the college or university level, directing educational programs with long-range implications, including addressing budget, staffing, and technological advances to improve the education and training of students.
- TQ2: Demonstrated executive level experience establishing communications and relationships among diverse institutional entities, e.g., students, faculty, administration, and other educational institutions.
Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs):
