Job Description ### Psych Registered Nurse Job Details Location: Louisville, KY Schedule: Full-Time | 36 Hours per Week | Flexible with opportunities for overtime and shift coverage Pay: $60/hour Position Type: Full-Time About the Psych Registered Nurse Role The Psych Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient-centered psychiatric care by utilizing the nursing process for diverse patient populations, including geropsych, chemically dependent adults, adult psych, adolescents, and children. This role ensures a comprehensive and compassionate approach by applying evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices. Requirements Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred). Licensure: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky (or compact license). Certifications: BLS certification required; CPI or equivalent crisis prevention certification preferred. Experience: Minimum of one year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred, including work with diverse patient populations such as geriatric, adolescent, or chemically dependent individuals. Key Responsibilities - Conduct assessments of patients' psychiatric and medical conditions. - Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed by physicians. - Provide intervention and direction during crisis situations. - Initiate and document special treatment procedures. - Manage the milieu to ensure a therapeutic and safe environment. - Record nursing care, treatments, and patient responses in compliance with clinical standards. - Deliver health education to patients, promoting wellness and understanding.
