Note: There is both a Manhattan and Brooklyn Location for this position

  • Educational Background: Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, including diplomas and associate programs, with advanced studies in psychiatric nursing at the master's level.
  • Experience: At least three years of clinical experience in psychiatric nursing, with a preference for candidates who have two years of post-master's clinical experience in a nursing role.
  • Nursing Education: Completed an accredited nursing program, meeting the standards set by the relevant professional accreditation body.
  • Advanced Training: In addition to meeting the basic educational qualifications, applicants should have successfully earned a master's degree (or equivalent), or have completed two years of graduate-level nursing education or one year of specialized experience in the field.
  • Emergency Care Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and providing immediate treatment for medical or surgical emergencies, including life-threatening or severe injury situations, until professional emergency assistance arrives.
  • Psychiatric Knowledge: A thorough understanding of psychiatric disorders and their treatments.
  • Clinical Assessment and Treatment: Ability to assess patients' conditions accurately and initiate appropriate medical interventions.
  • Pharmacological Expertise: Knowledgeable in pharmaceuticals used to treat various diseases and conditions, including understanding the mechanisms, side effects, toxicity, and interactions of medications.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Skilled in conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Patient Interaction: Demonstrates empathy and effectiveness in dealing with patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey medical information.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent with computer systems and technologies, or the ability to quickly learn new technologies as needed.
  • Decision-Making Ability: Capable of making independent, well-informed decisions when the situation requires it.
