Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerJob Summary: The PNP/PMHNP/NPP will work 0.6 FTE as part of a multidisciplinary team providing clinical coordinated assessments and assertive treatment in all stages of illness. The team nurse practitioner engages the consumer in shared decision making about medication and the next steps in medication treatment. Medication management will be guided by a medication algorithm that provides information about evolving best practices.Salary: The salary for this role is $100,000 per yearShift Hours: This position is part-time 3 days per week from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMLocation Address: 2090 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10027. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.Workplace Flexibility: On-site - for roles that are 100% in-office/in-person.What you will be doing:
- Provide compassionate clinical treatment in accordance with the scope of practice and regulations governing Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics
- Conduct up to 12-14 f/ups or 4-6 IPEs per day
- Conduct psychiatric assessments
- Assist clients, family members, and significant others with concern and empathy
- Work in collaboration with clients, family, and other collaterals to support recovery goals
- Respond to walk-ins and unscheduled client needs and provide expedited services to clients based on risk assessment status
- Prescribe medications indicated by diagnosis and lab results, teach clients about side effects, and monitor response to prescribed medications
- Complete buprenorphine training and obtain the waiver to prescribe
- Work collaboratively with therapists and registered nurses providing specific goals and measurable objectives for inclusion in person/family-centered treatment plans
- Ensure services are person/family-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed
- Promote integration of primary care working collaboratively with the onsite Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) medical providers and the clinic's nurses to ensure the effective delivery of health monitoring services
- Promote and deliver integrated treatment to consumers with co-occurring substance use disorders
- Utilize best and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with CASES' organizational culture; health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, and understanding incarceration on treatment engagement
- Provide culturally competent services that are individualized to client needs and reflect the integration of race, ethnicity, culture, primary language, immigration status, developmental status, criminal justice status, sexuality, age, and gender
What we are looking for:
- A Nurse Practitioner degree with specialized training or experience in Psychiatry. A current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in the State of New York. Board certified preferable.
- A current DEA registration for the prescribing of controlled substances. ANCC certification or pending application is required. NYS OPRA status approved or application pending and a Health Commerce Account in place by the onset of employment.
- Extensive experience working with people with mental illness, serious mental illness and knowledgeable about risk assessment and risk management
- To be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you cannot be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. You are required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Currently possess MAT DEA waiver or complete training within 6 months of hire and become eligible
