Job Description:

As a Psychiatrist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Daily Responsibilities:

Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder;

Order, analyze and evaluate patient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder;

Collaborate with an integrated team to discuss treatment plans and progress;

Performs psychiatric assessments and evaluations;

Design, execute or approve individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments;

Prescribe and monitor medications and other treatments;

Provides services using a combination of telephone, and video (telemental/telemedicine) as required/directed;

Provides unscheduled and or emergency services as needed for walk-in, open-access, and/or crisis clients at any time during scheduled shift;

Completes training and provides treatment using Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) as part of an evidence-based integrated approach to delivering behavioral healthcare services;

Provides services beyond scheduled shift as required to meet the needs of acute walk-in, open access, and/or crisis clients;

Evaluate recipient progress and makes referrals as needed;

Gather and maintain patient information and records;

Document all services within twenty-four hours of the date of a client s visit and in accordance with state/federal guidelines and policies and procedure;

Participate in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process as requested. As assigned, sees individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions;

Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities;

Maintains client confidentiality and confidential health information;

Participates in meetings as scheduled;

Signs clinical treatment plans as required;

Meets or exceeds the then current individual billable units of service requirement;

Additional duties as assigned.

Your skills and qualifications:

Current and valid board certification in psychiatry

Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency

Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice

Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria

Training and experience in providing Medication Assisted Therapies (MAT) preferred

Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques

Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Extensive knowledge with PC applications and electronic medical records strongly preferred.
