A nonprofit services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed professional to join their staff as their new Psychotherapist. In this role, the Psychotherapist will be responsible for providing clinical assessment & diagnosis, crisis assessment / intervention support, and psychotherapy. About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (At least 3 to 7 hour commitment per week)
- Hours: 9am to 8pm
- Setting: Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
- Patient Population: Adolescents (Ages 0 to 21)
Responsibilities: The Psychotherapist (Fee for Service) will:
- Conduct mental health assessments, diagnosis, and intake
- Screen for trauma and safety concerns as applicable
- Support an assigned caseload for psychotherapy that demonstrates consumer co-collaboration in defining measurable treatment goals for functioning and stability
- Provide ongoing individual, group, and/or family counseling as applicable to role
- Practice within the scope and adherence of any evidence-based model utilized when treating consumers
- Provide crisis intervention services
- Participate in on call crisis intervention rotation coverage
- Perform ongoing case analysis and treatment planning
- Participate in case conferences and all treatment team activities
- Assist families with both clinical and concrete services, and community linkages as applicable
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or other relevant license eligible behavioral science degree
- NYS LMSW, MHC or other related license
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in Child Welfare / Child Protective Services
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience with Evidence-Based Models
