Job Description
The 2nd Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for aiding the head coach with preparing and training his/her respective team for strong completion throughout their season. The Assistant coach should have the following qualities: strong knowledge of their respective sport, strong motivational skills, and good teamwork skills.
Main Duties:
* Assist head coach in conducting of practice, including the running of drills, teaching of techniques, and instructing in a manner consistent with the head coach's philosophies.
* Aid head coach in evaluating both individual and team talents in regards to recruiting and opposing teams/players.
* Collaborate with head coach with in-game information such as strategy, statistics, and game management as requested by the head coach.
* Must be able to act as a liaison between head coach and players.
* Transport student athletes to and from games and/or practices if needed.
* Be prepared to conduct the duties of the head coach in the event of his/her absence.
* Have a solid background in that sport and a willingness to accept new ideas and philosophies.
* Have excellent communication skills and be able to relate to students.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous playing/coaching of respective sport preferred. Knowledge of rules associated with sport required. Valid driver's license required.
