Job DescriptionStarting pay is $15/hr - negotiable upon experience. This position's candidate must be available to work weekends - We offer a $1.50/hr shift differential for weekends and $1/hr for overnight shiftGENERAL SUMMARY:The Assisted Living CNA is responsible for providing personal and non-personal care assistance to residents when there is a need and following each resident's personal plan of care; assists residents so that current living conditions can be maintained for as long as is safe and appropriate; promotes independence with daily activities while giving assistance to each resident.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Takes vital signs as requested.
  • Assists with showers/baths, dressing, and other personal care of resident as indicated on plan of care.
  • Assists residents with escorts to the dining room, hair salon, activities, etc.
  • Makes daily rounds to residents as required.
  • Keeps Charge Nurse and Assisted Living Director informed of the status of each resident.
  • Responds promptly to Call for Aid requests.
  • Assists with meal service including table set-up, serving, tableside assistance, room trays, beverage service, dining room cleaning, etc.
  • Performs light housekeeping tasks such as bed-making/changes, trash removal, personal laundry, etc. for each residents
  • Properly transports and delivers soiled laundry (linens) to designated collection points.
  • Gives and receives accurate shift reports.
  • Records accurate and timely resident progress notes, condition change notes, and other documentation as required and/or assigned.

  • OTHER DUTIES:
  • Maintains safe, sanitary, and orderly conditions in all work areas.
  • Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies in the proper condition.
  • Uses all safety equipment and follows safety procedures according to GCV policies.
  • Maintains an acceptable standard of personal hygiene and complies with GCV's dress code.
  • Maintains standards of confidentiality and resident dignity at all times.
  • Assures that residents are treated with kindness and respect at all times.
  • Maintains a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests at all times.
  • Responsible for safety of residents in case of any type of emergency.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service training, and education sessions as required.
  • Performs other work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Team Leader and/or Assisted Living Director.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Oklahoma certification as Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
  • High School graduate, GED, or currently enrolled in high school.
  • Ability to effectively communicate & follow instructions in English both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematics.
  • Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
  • Ability to document notes clearly.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years care-giving experience preferred.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, and to interpret instructions, specifications, and standards.
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, coworkers, and management; requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
  • Ability to follow and maintain basic infection control procedures.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergency situations.
  • Experience in working with the elderly and/or health care settings preferred.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand/walk for 100% of the work day.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors (as required).
  • Ability to walk long distances at a rapid pace.
  • Ability to assist in the bathing and dressing of residents with disabilities.
  • Ability to independently push a wheelchair with a resident weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, turn, stoop, reach, bend, stretch, and balance for up to 95% of work day in order to assist residents.
  • Ability to move equipment and perform other tasks using proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure position requirements can be fully met.
  • Ability to independently lift, balance, and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • May be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow).
  • May be exposed to a variety of chemicals, dust, and offensive odors daily.
  • May be exposed to communicable diseases and blood/body fluids that may contain bloodborne pathogens.
  • Must be able to maintain mental & visual attention to diversified operations.
  • Must be able to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.
