Job Description:

Position SummaryThe Physical Therapist assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programsthat improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and improve or correct disablingconditions resulting from disease or injury.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervision of support staff in the clinical area
  • Provide direct patient care as prescribed including evaluation and treatment planning
  • Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosisand required physical therapy treatment
  • Collaborate with other personnel in developing and implementing physical therapycare plans
  • Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enterinformation into computer
  • Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation
  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achievemaximum benefit
  • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home
  • Participate in educational activities of the service
  • Participate in clinical studies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Graduation from an approved Physical Therapy curriculum
  • Licensed by the state in which the Therapist practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgement
  • Good listening skills; strong verbal communication skills with a diverse range ofindividuals
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure and stay calm and focused inemergent situations
  • Must be highly self-motivated and results-driven
  • Possess a desire for further education to keep up with the ever-changing medicaladvances
